An automated machine to carry out leak tests on engine cylinder head, cover and carrier units, either individually or sequentially. The machine will accommodate two cylinder variants.

The operator manually loads the moulding into the  fixture. The test delivers air at 500mbar for a predetermined time. The limit set for leakage of air in this example was 6 cc/min.

Following succesful test completion the moulding is endosed and the tooling returns to the home position for the operator to unload. An unsuccessful test will be indicated & detailed on the operator interface screen. The moulding will not be endorsed.

The moulding must then be transfered to the `bolt check` fixture, where a check is carried out to ensure the bolts are fitted . Providing all bolts are present the moulding is endorsed. If unsuccessful test will be indicated & detailed on the operator interface screen and the moulding will not be endorsed.
